Our history

  • Founded by Roussel Uclaf (France, now  represented by Sanofi) as a joint-venture

  • 1979: Roussel Uclaf and Vietnam Pharmaceutical General Corporation in Hanoi, which is authorized by the Ministry of Health Vietnam, signed a joint venture agreement in which:

    - 51% of the capital of Vietnam Pharmaceutical Corporation

    - 49% owned by Roussel Uclaf

  • The Ministry of Health Vietnam assigned venture capital for People's Committee of Ho chi Minh city

  • A new joint venture agreement signed between Roussel Uclaf and SAPHARCO, is authorized by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City

    - 60% owned by Roussel Uclaf.

    - 40% of the capital of Sapharco.

    During this period, Roussel Vietnam has undertaken the business of manufacturing the pharmaceutical and materials of the Hoechst - Marion - Roussel corporation. Especially Roussel Vietnam is also the exclusive representative of the company AgrEvo in the plant protection and the environment activities

  • The Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam signed an assignment decides to move Roussel Vietnam from joint venture to become state-owned enterprises directly under SAPHARCO.

  • Roussel Vietnam is now under the system of the mom - son company of Saigon Pharmaceutical Company (SAPHARCO)

  • A new GMP – WHO plant is established, marking a milestone in our 50-year history

  • The 5th Anniversary of GMP Plant
